WELCOME TO SAME DAY DENTISTRY

I have produced 1000+  (and counting) units of crowns, onlays and bridges using the CEREC system.

CAD/CAM (computer assisted design and manufacture) has revolutionised restorative dentistry
It is now possible to design and produce crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays in one appointment.
The whole procedure is completed in my office and takes approx. 1 to 2.5 hours, depending on restoration size and material, of which you only need to be in the dental chair for about  30 minutes to 1 hour.

ADVANTAGES OF CEREC CAD/CAM:

  • One visit treatment
  • Very good cosmetic result
  • No impressions needed
  • No temporary crown needed
  • Very high quality porcelain (Stress free and bubble free)
  • Close wear and flexibility as natural tooth
  • Very strong
  • No metal used
  • Biocompatible
  • Very accurate fit
  • Long lasting therefore cost effective
  • Low failure rate
  • Good seal around the crown
  • Patient can decide on level and type of colour/staining
  • The crowns are bonded to the teeth so often less tooth is removed
  • Some teeth that look hopeless to rebuild can be saved
  • If a CEREC crown needs to be replaced another one can be produced from the computer database immediately

DISADVANTAGES OF CAD/CAM:

  • Difficult to match the CEREC crown to old crowns which have metal
More Information

The tooth is prepared, digitally scanned and the restoration designed

The design information is sent to the milling machine wirelessly.

The milling machinethen mills the restoration out of a perfectly manufactured block of porcelain.

After the restoration is tried in the mouth, and if necessary adjusted, it is stained and glazed for the desired cosmetic results.

The restoration is then bonded to the prepared tooth.

The new restoration can be used within half an hour.
